This is a fantastic vintage maritime signal flag, believed to indicate "diver down" or "diver in the water", signaling nearby boats to proceed cautiously and keep clear. The fabric has developed beautiful natural staining and patina over time, giving the piece incredible character and a well earned sense of age.
