Product Overview
This is an amazing and rare WW2 Aircraft Crash Axe used by the Army Air Force. It has a logo (Winged A) on the metal axe part (see pictures). It has a heavy duty rubber handle. It also has a military ID #42D8331 on the handle.
These "Emergency Escape Axes" were designed for the purpose of facilitating escape from inside the wreckage of an aircraft as well as the destruction of any electrical equiptment. The rubber handle protected you from any electrical shock. Please see pictures for more details. This is an amazing piece of history and would look so beautiful framed in a black high gloss shadow box.
